STITCH STRUCTURES IN WARP KNITTING
The loop structures in warp knitting are tighter and different than those in weft knitting. In warp knitting, the loops make connections in the longitudinal direction. The loop appearances in warp knitting are expressed as open loops and closed loops in the loop direction at the loop connection points.
a-Open loop
In warp knitting, if the loops move in the same direction as the loop movement and form the next loop, this loop image is called open loop.
b-Closed loop
If the loops move in the opposite direction of the loop movement and form the next loop in warp knitting, this loop image is called closed loop.
SYMBOLIC APPEARANCES OF KNITTING ELEMENTS IN WARP KNITTING
In warp knitting, the open loop is symbolized by a partially open circle and the closed loop is symbolized by a full circle. Hollow pins are shown as dots.
