    Conversion of yarn numbers to each other is an important issue in terms of fabric analysis and fabric design calculations. Because in calculations, the yarn number must be in Number Metric. Well; The yarn count you will use can be 40 Ne, 60 Nd, 40 Nike, 40 Ntex or different numbers, types and units.

    Yarns numbered in the Length Numbering system

    The yarn, 1000 grams of which is 1000 grams, is Number 1 Metric. ( nm )

    The yarn that comes in 1000 grams per 500 meters is Number 1 French. ( nf )

    5The yarn, 12 meters of which is 453,6 grams, is British Worsted No. 1 yarn. (Nic)

    The yarn weighing 234 meters, 453,6 grams, is British Strayhgarn. (Nisht)

    The yarn, which is 768 meters 453,6 grams, is Number 1 British Cotton. (nip)

    The yarn size of 274 Meters, 453,6 Grams is British Linen.( Nike )

    In this system, since the length is variable and the weight is constant, for example, the yarn number of 20.1000 meters of which is 1000 grams is 20 Nm (Number Metric).

    According to the above information;

    To find the Nip number of 20 Nm yarn, we do the following proportion.

    20.1000 meters of 1000 grams of yarn is 20 Nm.

     How many nip is the yarn weighing 768 grams per X.453,6 meter.

    According to this;

    20.1000 meters 1000 grams

     x. 768 meters 453,6 grams

     ---------------------------------

    X = 20.1000.453,6 / 768.1000 = 11,8 Nips

    20 Nm = 11,8 Nips.

    Or

    Using the yarn number conversion formula, we calculate how many Nips are in 20 Nm yarn.

    Nip = Nm.0,905 = 20.0,5905 = 11,8 Nm

    Yarns numbered in the Weight Numbering system

    The yarn from 9000 meters of 1 gram is Number 1 Denier. (Nd)

    The yarn that comes in 1000 gram per 1 meters is Number 1 Tex. (Ntex)

    In this system, since the length is fixed and the weight is variable, for example, the number of the yarn, whose 9000 meters is 20 grams, is 20 Nd (Number Denier).

    According to the above information;

    To find the number of 40 Nd yarn in Nm, we do the following proportion.

    The yarn weighing 9000 grams per 40 meters is 40 Nd.

    How many Nm is the yarn whose x.1000 meters come in 1000 grams?

    X= 9000,1000 / 1000,40 = 225 Nm

    40 Nd = 225 Nm.

    Or

    Using the yarn number conversion formula, we calculate how many Nm the 40 Nd yarn is.

    Nm = 9000 / Nd = 9000 / 40 = 225 Nm
