Panama weave is the weave obtained by increasing the connection points of the plain weave by 2 or more in the weft and warp directions. Panama weaves, which have a looser structure than plain weaves, have a porous structure thanks to this feature. The durability of fabrics woven with Panama weaves is lower than plain weaves.
Due to the presence of more than one yarn side by side, yarn slips may occur. For this reason, knittings with large reports are not preferred. It is generally preferred in the production of dress, jacket and overcoat fabrics.

    PATTERNED PANAMA KNIT

As with patterned rips, patterned panamas are formed by combining previously determined motifs. To create a patterned panama, first the motif to be applied is drawn. Then a mixed panama motif and the negative of this unit motif are taken. The report is enlarged at the desired rate and the selected negative and positive units are placed inside the desired motif.

    IRREGULAR PANAMA BRAID

Panama weaves in which different numbers of warp and weft yarns move in groups are called irregular panama weaves.
Irregular panama weaves consist of a loose and porous structure similar to regular panama weaves. Its durability is low. Yarn slippage is more than regular knitting.

It is possible to obtain different patterns. The number of warps and wefts in the knitting pattern is always equal. Warp and weft threads create uneven areas on the fabric surface. In addition, the reverse and flat of the fabric have a different appearance. They are always equal to each other.

    REGULAR PANAMA BRAID

Panama with equal weft and warp threads is called regular panama weave. The durability of the fabric woven with regular panama weave is low. It has a loose and porous texture. In addition, due to the movement of the threads in groups, slippage and tissue deformation may occur. Regular panama knit gives the same look on the reverse and face of the fabric.

The number of wefts and warps in the knitting pattern is equal. The smallest regular panama pattern consists of 4 warp and 4 weft patterns. Regular panama knitting is especially preferred for woolen and cotton weavings. It is used in the weaving of dress, sports jacket and coat fabrics.

The sum of the numbers in the given report determines the report area. Accordingly, the smallest regular Panama weave consists of 4 warp and 4 weft yarns.
